Hi Liane, Sadly we are down to earth again but each time we think of our day, we climb back up to the clouds again & again! We had the most perfect day and you & Craig really contributed to making it special. The music was perfect, the ceremony was beautiful, the weather was lovely, and my new husband is awesome! Everything ran so smoothly thanks to you & Craig and we can't thank you enough! I've completed your survey and am about to complete the ABIA one and I've also written a review about you on easyweddings.com.au (I hope you don't mind!). And thank you for the copy of our ceremony and for the lovely frame! It will take pride of place on my desk at work :-) We wish you & Craig all the best for the future. Have a wonderful Christmas too :-) Thanks you again, Deb & Greg xx November 2011

Here are just a few words perhaps for your website as I think anyone who doesn’t have you as their celebrant is missing out! Dear Liane, Richard and I would like to thank you most sincerely for making our day as special as it was. I never felt more relaxed and excited all at the same time. Even though our group was small your approach was ever professional and passionate to make it so memorable. We would recommend your services to anyone planning a wedding or commitment as your approach is so adaptable and relaxed. We would also like to thank your partner Craig for creating such a lovely atmosphere with his choice of music. With best wishes to you both and thanks for a wonderful wedding day! Aoife and Richard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You did a wonderful job Liane, we were very happy with your service and would recommend you to our friends/family! Thanks Liane for making our day so special! Mr and Mrs Thomson ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Liane We were extremely happy to have you as our celebrant. It was great to have Craig come and assist and the fact that we could have our chosen music incorporated in to the service, before and after over your PA really made the ceremony for us. You were a pleasure to work with and we wouldn't hesitate to receommend you to other couples. Many thanks Shannon and Julian ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Liane presented the most beautiful and memorable wedding ceremony for us on our special day in March 2010. She did such a great job, that a close relative of ours booked Liane to perform her wedding ceremony next year, right then and there. Many of our friends and family commented on Liane's amazing performance and delivery of our ceremony. Liane came highly recommended to us by a dear friend. This friend has since been married, so we had the privilege of seeing Liane also marry our friends. Thanks so much Liane, you are a true professional. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Liane, James and I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. We believe that you are not only a wonderful celebrant, but also a wonderful person. Your professionalism, calming nature, support and warm personality made our day that much easier and stress free. All of our guests commented on how beautifully you carried out our ceremony, and Craig did such a great job with the music. Every aspect of our wedding was just as we wished it to be (except for the rain, though it did make for some great photos!) and we believe that you played a major role in that. You controlled every part of the ceremony with ease and grace. We would be extremely happy for you to use any or all of our comments for testimonials or marketing purposes and you will be highly recommended to all our family, friends and anyone for that matter. Once again, thank you!!!!!! James & Katie Ford

Frequently Asked Questions

I have the names of a couple of Celebrants what do I do now? My advice is to contact the Celebrant by phone and ask some questions. Just like any professional, an Authorised Marriage Celebrant can be in demand so check they are available on the date you have chosen for your wedding. That’s the first step. It is super important that you feel the Celebrant can meet your needs on your special day. I really can’t stress this enough. So the second thing is to arrange a meeting and ask some more questions! If they are visiting you, do they arrive on time, dressed professionally? Do they discuss the legal requirements of conducting a Wedding, do they have paperwork with them? Are they taking notes about your Wedding Ceremony? Does the Celebrant seem organised, efficient and most importantly, friendly? Will they help you write the Ceremony, giving you suggestions and ideas as well as allowing you to choose your own style and wording to create a unique and special Ceremony? Will the Celebrant bring a professional PA system on the day if it is required? Will you receive a copy of your Ceremony? Is the Celebrant available for a Wedding rehearsal? Will there be any additional charges for rehearsals, travel, equipment or anything else? Are you happy with their fees? Does the Celebrant listen to you and are they passionate about making your Ceremony exactly what you want it to be? If you can tick all the boxes above you still need to go with your gut feeling: Do you feel the Celebrant will be calm and organisedl? Do you feel confident that your chosen Celebrant is a “good fit”? So what’s the difference between an Authorised Marriage Celebrant and a Civil Celebrant? It’s all in the name – they are exactly the same! Actually a Marriage Celebrant can choose whether they like to be known as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant or a Civil Celebrant. So nothing too mysterious there – thank goodness. Help, I need to find a Marriage Celebrant and don’t know where to start looking! Firstly, congratulations on your engagement! Marrying the person you love is one of the most important days of your life – a day to remember forever and worthy of a wonderful celebration. A wedding is a unique opportunity for a couple to declare their love and commitment to each other, witnessed by family and friends. Now that you have made the decision to get married you have made the first, and one of the most important decisions, you will make in planning your wedding. There will be lots and lots more things to decide on, but we are getting ahead of ourselves and I don’t mean to scare you! So let’s get back to your question…. Asking friends, family members or workmates for a recommendation is a good place to start. If you went to a friend’s wedding and thought the Celebrant was great – maybe they could pass on their Celebrant’s contact details. OK, so you don’t have any referrals. You can go to the website of the Attorney-General’s Department www.ag.gov.au and click on “Marriage” then the “Register of Marriage Celebrants”. This ensures your proposed Marriage Celebrant is registered under the Marriage Act 1961. Other options are to search the internet, look in the Yellow Pages, wedding websites, magazines or your local paper.. Don’t forget another valuable source of information; other “wedding providers” – photographers, wedding planners, bridal shops, beauty therapists, hairdressers and florists. Remember photographers and wedding planners attend the Ceremony and have seen Celebrants-in-action so may be able to recommend a few good ones to you. Anything else? Your Wedding Ceremony is a rare and vital moment in which you have the opportunity to express the essence of who you are and how you see yourselves in the world. Conducting your Wedding is a privilege and your Celebrant should reflect your own individuality…. A statement of who you are as a couple. I wish you all very best for your very special day! Even more different? Well the skies the limit…. you can even marry in a hot air balloon! Many Celebrants enjoy doing medieval weddings, themed weddings, weddings on boats or even under water! Incorporating rituals like a unity candle, a hand-fasting or a sand ceremony, are popular too. Have a chat to your Celebrant about what you want and I hope they can make your dreams come true. We want our Wedding to be different… Outdoor Ceremonies are fabulous but have a back-up plan in case of rain (it is supposed to be good luck to rain on your Wedding day!) Think about the level of difficulty of walking in sand or on grass in high heels. A shady area is good idea, but if it’s a tree - watch out for birds! Oh, and don’t forget to call the council to book your place in the park – your amazing spot could be someone else’s amazing spot too! The local council can mow the lawns, empty bins and put up a “reserved” sign for you. Celebrants have been known to break up a rowdy game of beach cricket so that “reserved” sign does help! Can we write our own Vows? Absolutely! I encourage couples to write their own Vows as it is such a special part of the Wedding Ceremony. When couples say their own personalised vows, guests often bring out the tissues! Apart from some “legal bits” which cannot be changed, your Ceremony can be partly or entirely written by you.
