All your Wedding needs
26 May 2008
Wedding entertainment can often be ignored as playing an important role in a wedding reception, but it has great potential for helping your wedding run smoothly. Music and performances manipulate moods and while dance music is de rigueur at most wedding receptions, dancing does not need to be the only thing the entertainment is good for.
Managing music
By having the wedding band or DJ play particular styles of music at different times of the night, you can manage the experience of your guests to suit the program of your wedding reception. Many bands know how to do this and will often wind down their sets with slower songs in order to help bring the evening to a close. If you talk to the band about using this tactic to calm people before the speeches and meals, then it is likely they will be able to arrange a set of songs that will seem to lead naturally to those quieter points.
Wedding lessons
If you would like your guests to dance in a more traditional manner, then you may find they need to be taught first. This can be an excellent opportunity for wedding entertainment as you hire a dance instructor to take everyone though some simple dances. Even if no one can pick it up, it is still sure to be fun and will not allow people who don't usually dance the excuse that they do not know how.
