Wedding News > Buck's nights and hen's nights

11 September 2008

Both buck's nights and hen's nights can be the cause of much tension before a wedding. This can be due to conflicting ideas about what such celebrations should involve between partners and miscommunication with the people who are organising the parties. Buck's nights and hen's nights do not need to be a source of strife, however, you just need to communicate.

If you have limitations for your partner, make sure that these are not too hardline. At the same time, if you partner has limitations for you, identify those that are reasonable and calmly explain your position on other areas. Compromise is key, as you don't want to suck the fun out of these celebrations.

Once you and your partner are clear on the limitations, explain these to the people organising the events. Do this together and appear united in your decisions about what is allowed and disallowed in your buck's night and hen's night. It is important that the best man and maid of honour both understand that you and your partner have come to an understanding about what your buck's night and hen's night can involve.
