The Buck's Night
A wedding is a momentous occasion for both bride and groom, a situation that calls for many different types of celebrations leading the soon-to-be husband to enjoy his last few days of being a bachelor through the time-old tradition of the bucks night.
A buck's night (also known as buck's party or bachelor party) is usually planned by the best man and there are a number of key considerations that they have to take into account, including:
Timing – rule number one: never have the bucks night the night before the wedding! Hold it at least a week before, or even a few, just to give everyone time to recover in time for the main event of the wedding.
Venue – with this you can either have it at a private property (best man’s house?) but if no venue is big enough you can either hire a hall, or simply head out to the local bars if a drinking party is planned.
Entertainment – can be anything from a sporting activity, games, live entertainment, movies or similar. This will normally dictate what the venue will be as well. If you are stuck for games, simply use your imagination, the "Funniest Story" game is a good party activity that will reveal a little more about the guests and have them get to know each other a little more. All the guys would have to do is to sit around in a circle and narrate their funniest experiences with the bachelor. This is a good way to have all the guests cracking up with laughter all night long.
Surprise for the Buck –this doesn’t have to be anything outrageous, or it can, but just have something out aside to surprise and embarrass the buck with, whether it is embarrassing stories or putting them in an awkward situation, whatever works best for the buck.
Planning a bucks party does not have to be stressful, it doesn't even have to be very expensive. All you really need are guests, great music, plenty of alcohol, food, a wild imagination, and a splash of naughty creativity and you're all set for a night of fun.
