Frequently Asked Questions
90% of our work is for Private functions - but we try to have a public gig once a month or so.
On the First Sunday of the Month (except August) catch us at Cupitt's Winery & Restaurant at Milton for Sunday Jazz. www.cupittwines.com.au
Our website has a calendar showing 'public gigs': www.theescalators.com.au
Can you play for our ceremony on the beach?Yes. We have a compact portable sound system to make sure that your special songs are heard clearly.
Do you bring all your own equipment?Yes - all we need is a "stage" (or floor space) & a power-point (but preferably 2).
We invest heavily in top quality sound gear & include a limited lighting system for stage & dancefloor in the price.
Can we request songs? We expect to prepare specific songs for your Ceremony & First Dance - no problem.
Our website has lists of our current songs - we love our clients to give us feedback on those lists.
If there is something missong from our current list - please let us know - if we have lead-in time & it suits our sound we will work on it for you.
How much do you charge? We tailor every event to your requirements, so there is no set price.
It depends mostly on how many musicians we bring & how much travel is involved.
The price range of Weddings in the last few years has been $1500 to $4000, with the average price around $2300.
Can you play for the Ceremony too?
Yes! Our 6 members are all versatile musicians - and we can also bring in other musicians, such as Violin, Cello, Flute & more.
Do you travel to (insert your town here)?Yes we go anywhere!
Most of our work is Sydney-Illawarra-ACT-Southern Highlands-South Coast.

With financial pressures as they are, we have had a lot of clients recently who would love to have live music for their wedding, but are having trouble fitting the price into their budget.
Likewise we have had some couples who can't quite agree: she loves live music, but he wants thumping club tunes that only a DJ set can create.
Bringing a smaller ensemble for your Ceremony &/or Canapes really keeps our costs down: fewer vehicles, less equipment. It also gives those couples who want a band and a DJ the best of both worlds
With mobile ensembles that can set-up in a garden, on a deck, at the beach...you & your guests can have that live music atmosphere early...and leave the dance music to a DJ later in the night.
Call (0414980816) or email (info@music4weddings.com.au) and we can discuss a package that fits perfectly into your day.
