Are there parks near by for wedding ceremonies?

Rose Bay Park, about 100 meters away, is rustic and pleasant. Blackburn Gardens, about 500m away, is also charming. McKell Park in Darling Point is spectacular and very popular. All require bookings made with the local council. Can I have our wedding ceremony at your venue?

Yes, either in your booked room for a nominal cost or another room with an additional room hire charge.

Is there wheelchair access?

Both function rooms have easy wheelchair access.

Can I have live music and dancing?

With pleasure. A dance floor is included in your package.

Do you make wedding cakes?

No, we can refer you to excellent cake suppliers.

Can I bring my own florist or decorator?

All professional suppliers are welcome. We can also refer excellent decorators to you. Zest offers many affordable décor packages and features [chair covers, drapes, mood lighting, ottomans, etc.]. See decor on website.

Can I have extended canapés instead of entrée?

Yes, price remains unchanged.

Can I bring my own caterer?

Why would you? Zest is one of the foremost caterers in Australia, having won the top National awards from the Restaurant and Catering Association, “Caterer of the Year”. So the answer is “no”, unless you require kosher catering. Accredited kosher caterers may cater at our venue, by arrangement.

Can I have alternate served meals?

Yes, at a small additional cost.

How do I pay for my event?

Payment by cash, cheque, internet are all fine. Visa and Mastercards attract a 2% commission.

Can we take photographs on the Marina?

Regretfully No. The marina is private and out of bounds. There are really good photo shoot locations nearby; both walking distance and a short drive away.

What are parking arrangements?

You are guaranteed one parking spot. Other onsite parking is for members only. However there is plentiful street parking along Wunulla road and up the fork to Wyuna road [with a public staircase directly across the road from the club]. Typically parking is manageable midweek and weekend evenings. Most difficult times are daytime parking at weekends during summer and spring.

If there is a time gap between my ceremony and reception where can my guests go?

Unfortunately your guests will not have early access to the RMYC, as it is a members only club. We recommend Double Bay for a coffee or a drink. The Sheaf in New South Head road is a very conducive environment.

Can I arrange beverages on a consumption basis?

The beverage packages are very attractively priced for you and the club will not offer drinks on a per consumption basis.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

The premises are fully licensed and liquor may not be brought onto the premises.

Can I upgrade the beverages?

Yes, we offer very affordable upgrade wines, sparkling wines, beers etc. plus special cocktails, spirits, etc. Spirits such as scotch can be supplied on a per bottle basis, which is more affordable than by the drink.

Can I extend beyond the package time, eg.5 hour event?

Yes, by negotiation with us. Time extensions are charged per half hour per person. This covers venue hire and full beverage service.

Can I arrive or leave by boat?

Regretfully No. The marina is private. There are commercial and public marinas nearby, such as Rose Bay wharf, which you can use. Most would require a short [5 minute] bus transfer to the venue.

How late can we party?

There is a midnight curfew, at which stage music and beverage service must end.

How do I confirm a booking?

Bookings are confirmed by payment of a deposit together with a signed copy of our Terms and Conditions of Business [See Pricing on website].

Can I reserve a booking date?

Yes, you can reserve a booking date without any obligation. We usually hold this booking in our system for 3 weeks. If at any stage we get another inquiry for the date you are holding we shall contact you first about your decision, giving you first option on the date.
