I’m Simon, an Englishman living in OZ. I moved to the Sunshine Coast from Portsmouth England in search of sunshine & surf (I thought Sunshine Coast would be a pretty good place to start). There are a few grey hairs starting to show but I’m still 20-ish at heart, I still skate every chance I get and love hanging out with my boys, Henry & Fred. I’ve been a photographer of some sort all my working life. 9 years ago I started my own wedding photography business, everything I knew about photographing weddings up till then had put me right off. I thought wedding photography was all about lining people up and taking squillions of group photographs then cliché over posed photographs of couples standing in unnatural positions. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a market for that but you are on the wrong site if that’s what you’re after. The type of wedding photography that does it for me and my clients is far more natural. I document things as they happen spontaneously, capturing proper smiles and real emotion, I mingle with the guests looking for special moments to photograph and use a nice wide lens to get everything in. Wedding photography has taken me to Zimbabwe, Spain, Ireland, England, Australia and I want it to take me round the rest of the word, hint hint! I love cake & Custard – Longboards – Little dragon – Bonobo – Mac Demarco – Travel, not just the pretty places – Cooking, I’m not too shabby -My new Fuji gear – I’m a member of Fearless photographers – I want to document the wedding of every race & religion in the world – I can’t wait to go surfing – I will get a six pack, one day.
